Funny, politicians can offer to buy your vote under the table (welfare checks anyone?) but gawd forbid you should offer to sell it to someone honestly!

Yeah, this is totally ridiculous. You're not infringing on anyone's rights, in fact he is exercising his right. It is totally fair to vote for any personal reason. Politicians are using my money to give to other people in return for a vote, which is frankly much more harmful and dishonest than what this kid is being charged with.
