No one is more deserving of this week's FU of the Week (check out the full episode here) than Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Zack Whedon, the notorious writers of the epic three-part musical mini-series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. If you haven't heard the story of the evil Freeze Ray toting mastermind with a heart of cold created by Joss Whedon, where the heck on the InterWebs have you been?
If you go to the drhorrible.com, you'll notice that the videos are no longer available to view on the site. They were up for a week, gained buzz to the point of bringing down servers, and were then pulled. What a tease. ;) So, if you didn't get to see it, all you're left with are people smoking after-sex cigarrettes and the feeling you missed out on something really damn good. You would be right. Fortunately, there are still places online where you can catch the episodes, like iTunes and Hulu.
Dr. Horrible is proof-positive that the writer's strike made a psychological impact in Hollywood. When you have frustrated writers standing in picket lines, what better place to turn to vent frustrations than the web? Those frustrations were the very thing that spawned Dr. Horrible, and I think Dr. Horrible will in turn spawn a new wave of amazing web shows -- pushing us all to the next level of entertainment.
Note** From Maurissa "It's back up on hulu.com since the 29th for free (with ads). You can go to our site www.drhorrible.com, click on the "watch it now" button."
