Reformat the Planet

A few months ago, I posted an interview Zadi did with two of the people behind the chiptunes documentary Reformat the Planet. This week Pitchfork.tv is streaming the full length version of the film. Definitely check it out!

Reformat the Planet is a documentary about the "chiptunes" music scene and its premiere event -- the annual Blip Festival in New York. Chiptunes music is inspired by video game and computer soundtracks of the 80's and 90's -- when music was synthesized in real-time by a sound chip capable of only a limited number of sounds.

I didn't notice this, Glad you posted this just in time Rick.

Using realplayer I'm getting the Embedded FLV's from the site, With the kind permission from 2 player productions we could host it here, I could upleod them to the video section of my profile perhaps?

Hey Laurence, if they would agree, that would be awesome! Though I think Pitchfork is taking it down because 2PP may have only wanted it freely available for a limited time.

Sure rick, It won't do any harm in asking. Mix has grown a fair bit since that original feature and this would give chiptunes more of an audience.

Should 2pp decline to allow this, try and obtain info on where else it can be seen, either online or off, and/or whether any cost are involved (ie ordering/purchasing a DVD for example).

Caught a few glimpses of it as I was downloading hte installments. Good to see That Random and anamanaguchi there too. Caught them at the chiptune alliance on this side of the atlantic, Well worth it :D
