San Francisco held a huge three day concert event in Golden Gate park called Outside Lands. Over 60 artists performed with headliners including Radiohead, Tom Petty and Jack Johnson. I was lucky enough to be there and although I froze the whole weekend (I'm not used to SF weather), it rocked! My favorite part was watching Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. His songs take me back to all sorts of times in my life. And he still knows how to put on a show!

A new element to this concert was Crowdfire.net. Its a new site that wants to give you somewhere fun and cool to upload your concert pix and vids.

They had a tent with computers set up so that you could upload your footage right away. I thought this was a great way for those music fans who couldn't make it to the concert to be a part of the show. There is also tools for remixing and mashing up the different clips.

The Crowdfire tent was actually pretty cool. Besides the computers set up for easy access. It had couches to chill on with your own laptop and guitar hero was set up. It was a cool vibe for mixing interactivity with live music.

I met an LA based band, Carney, who performed there and actively blogged and posted their pix and vids on Crowdfire. They were very cool and I was excited at how accessible they were to their fans. The Ninja from AskaNinja.com was there as well. He uploaded some footage he took from the crowd.

I love when new media pops up in traditional places! The peeps behind Crowdfire say they expect to be at Bonnaroo and hoping to be at SXSW. So get on over there and start mix'n & mash'n!
