mstrkrft masters the remix
Posted by Zadi Diaz

MSTRKRFT (pronounced Master Craft) is made up of Toronto musician Jesse F. Keeler (Death From Above 1979) and Al-P (Girlsareshort). The two have been collaborating on projects together since 1998, mixing sounds to make up a great blend of hip-hop, house, punk and electronic experimentation that will most certainly get you up and dancing.

Remixing is definitely a skill at the top of MSTRKRFT's list. Nominated for a Grammy for Best Remix on Wolfmother's track "Woman," the team has remixed just about everyone from The Kills to Kylie Minogue. Tedconrad.com has a good list of their remixes that you can peruse.

The duo released their first album, The Looks, in 2006 and now they're on to their second. The new album, Fist Of God, is slated to be released on March 17th through Dim Mok/Downtown Records. Word is the new sound is "darker, underground disco and house, with elements of American rock music" and features E-40, Freeway, and Lil' Mo. We're definitely looking forward to it!
